PLACE OF SOCIAL ACTION
At Young Northants we're on a mission to make Northamptonshire the leading place for youth voice, youth leadership, and real change created by children and young people.
Your voice matters-on everything from national issues like climate change to decisions about parks, services and community spaces.
But too often, young people are left out of the conversations that impact their lives the most. We're here to change that.
A County of Contrasts
Northamptonshire has many strengths, but it also faces real challenges:
-
West Northamptonshire: 18.4% of children aged 0-15 live in relative low-income families.
-
North Northamptonshire: This rises to 21%
These issues are complex. No single solution will fix them-but your ideas and leadership can.
What We're Building
Young Northants is creating a county-wide space where young people can:
-
Share ideas and experiences
-
Influence decisions that addect their lives
-
Lead projects, campaigns, and community change
-
Shape the future of Northamptonshire
This is your County.
Your voice deserves to be heard.
Your ideas deserve to be acted on.
Your leadership deserves a platform.
Have your say:
What Young People in Northamptonshire Really Think
In February 2026 Young Northants partnered with #iwill Movement to host an inspiring Youth Hack, bringing together young people from across Northamptonshire to share their views, ideas and ambitions for the future. The event provided a platform for honest conversations about the issues that matter most to young people and the changes they would like to see in their communities. Curious about what they had to say? Explore the report from the day to discover their insights, priorities and creative solutions.
This is just the beginning, Young Northants is committed to running more Youth Hacks in the future, helping even more young people have their voices heard. If you're part of a local school, youth group or community organisation and would like support to organise your own Hack event, we'd love to hear from you. Get in touch and let's work together to empower young people to shape the future of Northamptonshire.
